As you may be aware, Batista has gone from WWE. There had been the feeling for sometime that this would be coming and it did. But, Batista has not been quiet. Apparently TMZ.com have been speaking with the former World Heavyweight Champion and he has said that he will be becoming a professional MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) fighter.
He told TMZ that he's headed to the Strikeforce MMA promotion which also, coincidentally is the home of another WWE superstar in Bobby Lashley. He said that he has his first fight all organized but couldn't say when and who he would be fighting.
This should be quite interesting. The only problem with this is that Batista is 41 years of age and I can't imagine he would have too many fights left in him. I could be wrong but we shall have to wait and see and hopefully, he will be as good there as he was with WWE....
Now, onto out NEW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION REY MYSTERIO! Sources are saying that there are a few reasons why Rey got the title and why Jack Swagger didn't retain....Here are the reasons....
- Jack hadn't gotten over as champion as much as the company officials would've liked him to
- Rey had been unhappy and so they thought that giving him the title would make him stay
- And because The Undertaker is out with 'multiple facial injuries' behind the scenes staff couldn't afford for Rey to take the month off
